Integration of Autopilots and Advanced Sensors into Unmanned Aircraft Systems
Autopilots are an important part of Unmanned Aircraft Systems. They allow the Aircraft to fly autonomously without user input. We are studying the potential ways that various autopilots can help facilitate the needs of our research missions. The goal being a completely autonomous flight conducting an automatic takeoff and landing of Category I, II, and III aircraft while carrying a research payload.
