Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Statement
National Institute of Aerospace recognizes the value of building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive population of staff, faculty and students, and giving equitable access to everyone. We recognize diversity comes not only from visible traits like sex, race, age, or ethnicity, but also many invisible traits like abilities, perspectives, socio-economic background, military status, gender identity, and sexual orientation. As such, NIA endeavors to:
- Cultivate and nurture an organizational culture that genuinely welcomes and respects all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness and earnestly incorporates feedback and perspectives from underrepresented voices.
- Utilize available recruiting tools to seek out underrepresented candidates for all positions in the organization to reflect a diverse community in our workforce.
- Foster collaborations with underrepresented educational institutions, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs), to strengthen the pipeline of opportunity for students to grow into outstanding STEM researchers.
- Establish policies, programs, practices, and resources necessary to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility resulting in excellence in all activities of the institute.
