The Center for Integrated Systems Health Monitoring Laboratory (ISHM) at the National Institute of Aerospace is an extension of research thrusts underway at North Carolina State University. The Center exists as an academic haven for the advancement of sensors, actuators, microprocessors, and other devices and technologies instrumental in developing advanced Structural Health Monitoring systems, as well as a springboard for students to explore advancements in energy harvesting, and metamaterials.
The Center is complemented by NIA’s Integrated Systems Health Monitoring Laboratory (ISHM). Within the laboratory, students are able to bring theory into practice as they work on a variety of projects that advance structural and material technologies in the aerospace industry and beyond.
