Abstract: In this talk, a review of the theory for entropy and entropy stability will take place. And an outline of the difficulties encountered when proving convergence will be presented. In linear theory consistency and stability of a numerical scheme is sufficient to infer grid convergence. For non-linear equations, convergence does not follow from stability. Using scalar examples a presentation of the convergence theory and some indications of the difficulties surrounding the Navier-Stokes equations will be given.
