Abstract:
This study presents an additional analytical approach to the dynamics of a spinning structure which is proposed to be a conceptual design of a solar sail traveling in space. Speaker Bio:
Dr. Jung-San Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Science at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan. Her research interests include waves and vibrations, acoustics, complex structures and materials, structural dynamics, advanced continuum mechanics. Before joining the NCKU faculty, she worked as a research assistant with Prof. C. T. Sun at Purdue University and earned her Ph.D. in Aeronautics & Astronautics Engineering in 2011.
