Hosts: Danette Allen, NASA/LaRC and Doug Stanley, National Institute of Aerospace

Abstract:
TECHLAV is a DoD Center of Excellence in Autonomy, led by North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T) in collaboration with the University of Texas at San Antonio and the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute, to conduct strong integrated multi-disciplinary research and education on Large Scale Autonomous Systems of Vehicles (LSASV). There are three research thrusts under the TECHLAV Center. Thrust 1 develops scalable methodologies to improve modeling, analysis, localization, navigation, and control of LSASVs. Thrust 2 develops systematic techniques to enhance the reliability and efficacy of the control structure and the communication backbone for LSASVs. Thrust 3 develops and provides technologies and tools for the testing, evaluation, validation, and verification of LSASVs. The speakers will be giving an overview of TECHLAV and its key research activities within the center. In an attempt to promote collaborations among faculty in TECHLAV, the National Institute of Aerospace and NASA Langley researchers, the focus of the talk will mostly be on the individual tasks within each thrust.
